Ms. Patricia 'Lynne' Longmore (nee Sabine)

Ms. Patricia ‘Lynne’ Longmore (nee Sabine) of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away with her family by her side, at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the age of 72 years. Lynne had a deep love for her family and had many friends she cherished as well. She was born December 11, 1944, in Unity Saskatchewan. She graduated in 1962 from Unity Composite High School and then obtained two degrees (BA and BEd) from the University of Saskatoon. She taught school here in Red Deer, Alberta until she started her family. Lynne was a Bridge Master, a member of The Red Deer Bridge Club, and she also loved the sports of curling, golf, swimming and watching figure skating. Lynne was known as the “best Hockey Mom” ever by her son and his teams. She drove Cory and all his friends to their games and she also drove them to all of Cory’s swimming practices and meets. She enjoyed it all. She also loved to cook and would invite family and friends often. We were all glad and very blessed to have had the privilege of having Lynne being in our lives. She will be greatly missed but always cherished and always remembered. especially by her loving son, Cory Longmore of Red Deer; her grandson, Jesse Longmore (wife Sasha) of Kelowna, British Columbia, her dear brother, Robert Sabine (and wife, Marie) of White Rock, British Columbia, ex-husband and friend, Don Longmore of Red Deer and her grandson’s mother, Taura Belland. She will also be remembered by many good friends and relatives. Growing up and through the first years of teaching here in Red Deer, she had a “foursome” of very close friends being: Darlene Sartario (O’Donnell, Houchen), Linda Von Halloway, Sharon Dixon (Cummings) and Adele Bourke. Lynne was predeceased by her father, Wilfred John Sabine in 1987, and her mother, Mary Patricia Sabine (Young) in 1982. A Celebration of Lynne’s Life will be held in the Spring of 2018 and Notice will be given.
