It is with profound sadness, that the family of Ms. Joyce Marie Fertig (nee Renouf), announces her peaceful passing, in Red Deer, on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the age of 80 years. Joyce was born on December 27, 1938 at Coronation, Alberta, to parents, Charlie and Euphrasie Renouf. She grew up on the family farm near Elnora, Alberta, and her love for animals began at a young age; teaching or training every animal on the farm to be either ridden, or led. She lived a fulfilling life with many memorable experiences. That care, love and passion for animals served her well over the years, with her Arabian Horses. Joyce was a well known leader in the Arabian Horse Community, both as a breeder, a competitor, and later as a Judge. She was also a talented seamstress; and throughout her life, she loved to spend her free time traveling, or on the golf course. Joyce recently received an Honorary Pin from The Order Of The Eastern Star, for being a member of sixty years. She was happiest surrounded by her horses, her Standard Poodles, and most of all her family. Mom will be missed by all who knew her, and enjoyed her high energy for life, but most of all, she will be missed by her family. Joyce, a very proud mother and even more proud grandmother, is survived by her daughter, Shannon and her husband, Ajoy, their son, Carson and daughter, Austyn; and her son, Allan and his wife, Candy and their three daughters, Madison, Katelyn, and Jensen. She will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Gwen Renouf and family, her brother, Doug (Karin) Munn, and will be greatly missed and happily remembered by her all her other family and dear friends. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. The family would like to send a special thank you to all the wonderful staff at the West Park Lodge, Red Deer for taking such great care of Mom in the final stage of her life.
