It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and nana, Mrs. Valerie Lynne ‘Val’ Hare in Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the age of 73 years. She was surrounded by her loving family, and died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Val will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of fifty-five years, Patrick of Red Deer; her sons, Ronald (Karen) of Calgary, Alberta, David (Lisa) of Cochrane, Alberta, and Robert of Bowden, Alberta; her grandsons, Ryan, Ethan, Spencer and Tyler (Nana’s REST) and her granddaughters, Brooklynn and Madison. Val will also be sadly missed by her sister, Roieen (Larry) Ewing, her brothers, Duncan (Rhoda) Langell and Dr. Douglas Langell, her brother-in-law, Michael (Susan) Hare, and numerous nieces and nephews. Val was predeceased by a sister, Corinne. Val will always be remembered by her favourite saying;
“When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.”
Val, as always, you are our treasure.
In keeping with Val’s wishes, she will be remembered by her family at a Private Memorial Service, at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Val’s honour may be made directly to a charity of the donor’s choice.
