Mrs. Bette Lou Ellen Molleken

Mrs. Bette Lou Ellen Molleken passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey, Alberta on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the age of 79 years. Bette was born on February 2, 1939 at Bengough, Saskatchewan. Here she met her husband, Bernie, and the couple had three children there before moving to Alberta in 1963. A fourth child was welcomed soon afterwards and the couple eventually settled in the Town of Eckville. Bette and her husband ran a Pilot Car Business for a few years. She also worked as a dispatch for different local businesses over the years. Bette could often be found at the Arena watching the local games, or volunteering. She wrote the Hockey News for the local newspaper for years. Bette loved going to Bingo every chance she got; and in the later years, she volunteered at the Eckville Manor House calling the Bingo. Bette will be lovingly remembered by son, Randy and wife, Darlene, daughter, Carrie and partner, Greg Vandevelde, Greg Devereux and his wife, Debbie, grandchildren, Tasha, Kari Ann, Alyssa, William, Bradley, Christopher and Stace Molleken; as well as several in-law grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bette was predeceased by her husband, Bernie, a daughter, Cindy and a son, Robert ‘Bobby’. At Bette’s request, no formal service will be held. If desired, Memorial Donations in Bette’s honor may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, 5228 – 50 Avenue, Rimbey, Alberta, T0C 2J0.
