It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. William ‘Bill’ Edward Flint of Red Deer, Alberta announce he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Bill was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on June 24, 1931. He spent his early years on the farm his parents homesteaded in Paradise Valley, Alberta. Eager to earn his own way, he planted his first crop when he was only seventeen, earning the seed money by trapping Muskrats with his brother, Sandy, at the nearby lake. Always open to a new challenge, he moved to Drayton Valley, to join Pembina Pipeline as an operator, and in 1959 purchased a Gas and Grocery Store in Creston. His entrepreneurial and industrious spirit led him to undertake many different roles over the ensuing years. His passion was wood working and he would spend hours in the shop on evenings and weekends creating various items for friends and family including toy boxes, wood jewelry, pens, salt and pepper shakers, toy trucks and coasters, just to name a few. He took pride in developing these creations and finding various ways to help his large and growing family. Bill had a rich full life, surrounded by a loving family and unwavering in his love of God, and the promise of eternal life. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-five years, Pansy; his five children and their spouses, Lynsy, Lorna (Don), Dale (Sandy), Shelly (Peter), Rick (Trudy); fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Harriet, four sisters and three brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Church Of The Nazarene, 2 McVicar Street, Red Deer, Alberta on on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A Private Family Interment will be held at Lloydminster, Alberta.
