It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Ryan Andrew Johnston of Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the age of 36 years. Ryan was born in Ontario on May 9, 1983. He was raised in St. Thomas, but eventually found his home in Red Deer in April 2009. Ryan met his wife, Kim and they built a home, a life, and a family, in Red Deer, over the last ten years. During this time, Ryan was able to share his soul and passion for giving, helping, and caring for all those around him, including those he didn’t know personally. Ryan was the first person to say yes, to make us laugh, to give his time, his passion and his last dollar to anyone. Those who knew Ryan would say he was magnetic. He had a way of drawing you in, making you feel valued, and through his charm, humor and raw honesty and acceptance, would make you feel at home in his embrace. Ryan spent his last few years trying to find his way back to who he really was, and fought a battle harder than anyone could ever understand. He was unable to see how valued, loved and extraordinary he really was. Our hearts are heavy and forever will be. Ryan will be missed beyond measure, and words cannot express what he means to all those who knew him. You are now free Ryan…..Free Fallen. Ryan will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kim Montgomery; his sons, Kai, Conner and Bryce; his daughter, Nevaeh; his mother, Brenda; and step-father, Gary; his father, Wayne; his brothers, Matt and Lee; his sister, Heather; and his grandmother, Donna; as well as many family and friends who will never forget the time and memories he gave to us. Ryan was predeceased by his grandfather, Roy.
