Mr. Peter Graham Rawlins

Mr. Peter Graham Rawlins, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the age of 72 years. Peter was born in Prestatyn, Wales on May 5, 1947. Peter was a butcher for twenty-five years, until he retired at the age of sixty, due to a diagnosis of cancer. After his diagnosis, Peter spent the majority of his time singing karaoke at pubs, all over Central Alberta. He said music was the best medicine. He was known as “The Karaoke King.” Peter was courageous and strong during his twelve and a half year battle with cancer. He was an incredible role model to everyone around him and was living proof of what it means to never give up. Peter was the kindest, most loving spouse, father, brother, uncle, grandparent and friend, one could ever hope for.
Peter will be missed by so many.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Elaine Van Dusen of Red Deer, Alberta, his six children; Dean (Laura) Rawlins of Red Deer, Julie (Ray) McKinnon of Red Deer County, Megan (Chris) Dade of Red Deer, David (Becky) Rawlins of Red Deer, Kevin (Jen) Rawlins of Penhold, and Susie (Tim) Giesbrecht, also of Penhold; daughter-in-law Tanya Rawlins; and his twenty-one grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by two brothers, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his wife, Lynne Rawlins of Penhold, Alberta, a son, Paul Rawlins of Lacombe, Alberta, his parents, Harry and Megan Rawlins of Prestatyn, Wales, two brothers, Barry and Trevor Rawlins of Prestatyn Wales and a sister, Jill Rawlins of Prestatyn. A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held at the Innisfail Legion Branch No. 104, 5108 – 49 Street, Innisfail, Alberta on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Peter’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at reddeerhospice.com.
