Mr. Larry Herbert Somerville

Mr. Larry Herbert Somerville passed away at Red Deer on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the age of 66 years. Larry was born on September 1, 1952 at Winnipeg, Manitoba to Herbert and Loni Somerville. The Somervilles moved to Alberta in the 1960’s and settled with their family in Calgary, Alberta. Larry attended school in Calgary, and later went to work for Coca Cola. In 1974, the Somerville family again pulled up roots and moved to the Eckville, Alberta Area. Over the course of the years, Larry became a Vibe Operator and worked in Seismic Exploration. His job took him across the Western Provinces and into the Northwest Territories. In 1994, Larry was united in marriage to Christine Harrison and they made their home in Red Deer, Alberta. Over the past decade, Larry was challenged with many health problems, but was able to maintain his unique sense of humor and enjoy family gatherings; as well as visits with family and friends. Larry moved into the Michener Extendicare in 2017. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Ron (Rose), Robert (Val), and Brian (Darlene). Larry will also be sadly missed by his nephews, Greg Bilan, Brian Vandenberg, James Somerville, Matthew Somerville, Brayden Somerville, and Colton Somerville; his nieces, Jessica Robideaux and Nicole Ingram; as well as special friends, Terry Armstrong, Gregg Johanson, Jack Darroch and Tony Lee. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Christine in 2016, his parents, Herbert and Loni Somerville, his brother, Gerald Somerville, his sisters, Darlene Bilan and Shirley Robideaux, and a nephew, Jason Robideaux. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at a future date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
