Mr. Kenneth ‘Wayne’ Raketti of Penhold, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Hospital Centre on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Wayne was born on November 2, 1943 in Saskatchewan but built a life and family in Red Deer, Alberta. Wayne serviced oilfield equipment for decades, adopting the lifelong nickname “Diesel Doctor”. He loved working on pretty much anything as long as it wasn’t a passenger vehicle. Wayne’s other passion was racing modified tractors; he travelled all over Alberta for years, going as far as to design and build track equipment himself and served various positions on the Alberta Tractor Pullers Association. Wayne was an extremely kind and generous man, one who cared deeply about his family, friends and animal companions. He loved a good joke and told the best stories. He could make anything funny! We will miss his devilish grin and twinkle in his eye, while he was pranking someone. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his son, Shaun Raketti of Brule, Alberta, his daughter, Trena Raketti of Red Deer, Alberta, his grandchildren, Tony Scott of Red Deer, Alberta and Christopher Scott of Penhold, Alberta. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother, Alan Raketti of Duncan, British Columbia; numerous family, dear friends and co-workers. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Elma, sisters, Maryanne Rasmussen and Edna Raketti. A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held at a later date.
