Mr. John Thomas Langelaar

Mr. John Thomas Langelaar of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the age of 70 years. John was born on February 22, 1947 at Ede, Holland. He immigrated to Canada at the age of five years with his parents and two brothers in 1951. John lived in Red Deer, Mirror and Lacombe, Alberta before moving to Abbotsford, British Columbia. John married Nel Vermeer on September 12, 1969 and lived in Surrey, British Columbia; where their sons, Jason and Troy were both born. In the summer of 1979, they moved to Red Deer, Alberta; where they resided until John’s passing. John originally had his own construction company in British Columbia and eventually started Langelaar Transport in 1990, in Red Deer, Alberta; which is still in existence today. John always loved being involved in his church, and with the Christian School, serving on various committees and councils frequently as the chair. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nel Langelaar of Red Deer, Alberta; his family, Jason and Michelle; Devon and Makenzie, and Troy and Marsha; Naomi, Steven and Erin all of Red Deer, Alberta. John was predeceased by his parents, Engberdina and Wijnand Langelaar. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at New Life Fellowship, 20 Kelloway Crescent, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
