CLASSEN, Fred
April 27th 1938 – February 26th 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, at the age of 81 years. Fred’s many stories of his lifetime adventures included hunting, fishing, ranching, farming, cooking skills, dry sense of humor and stubbornness will live on in our hearts forever. He had the spirit of a true cowboy and a warrior. Fred will be very lovingly missed by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Greta; his three daughters, Brigitte (Randy), Lisa (Steve); Linda (Wade); his son, Lawrence (Bonnie); his three grandchildren, Brittany, Kathleen (Mitch), and Michelle; his one great grandson, Kase; and his faithful companion, Kali. He will also be deeply missed by many extended family and friends, and others whose lives he touched along the way. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fritz and Maria, and a brother, Paul. A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 212, 4916 – 50 Avenue, Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, in place of flowers, Memorial Donations in Fred’s honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Humane Society at www.cahumane.com.
