It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Floyd ‘Herb’ Sherval Bryant at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, with his daughter, Tina and his family by his side, on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the age of 68 years. Herb was born in Stettler, Alberta on April 11, 1949 and was the first child of six, born to Floyd and Betty Bryant. He was raised in Red Deer and then moved to Edmonton, where he met the mother of his children, Carol Bouchard. Herb and Carol returned to the Red Deer Area, where he began his career with CP Rail as a Brakeman in 1975; he loved the railroad and made life long friends along the way. Herb retired from CP Rail in 2008, as a Locomotive Engineer. Herb and Carol raised their children in Lacombe, then Herb moved back to Red Deer after their divorce. Herb was blessed with two grandsons, Ryan and Alex. They were the focus, pride and loves of his life. He always talked about them, told everyone what they were doing, their accomplishments and loved every minute he spent with them. Herb was always available to help anyone who asked and volunteered his help often to family and friends. Herb would often be found camping, fishing, singing and playing his guitar. He was also very involved in the Central Alberta Toy Run, as he loved to think about all the children having a Happy Christmas. Herb will lovingly be remembered and missed by his daughter, Tina Benoliel; his grandsons, Ryan and Alex and the mother of his children and life long friend, Carol Bryant. Herb will also be sadly missed by his brother, sisters, and their families, Celia, Bill (Charity), David (Barby), Jim (Linda), Patty (Bert), Chris (Rachelle), Deb (Tony), Mandy (Mark), Aimee (Dennis), Derek (Glynis), Marcia (Mike), Anna (John), Danny, Steven (Kimberly), Angie (Nick), Tammy (Margo), Shantelle (Arty), Chelsea (Matt); Herb was also a great Uncle to sixteen nephews and nine nieces.
