It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Douglas James ‘Doug’ Delmage of Red Deer, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the age of 71 years. Doug was born to Raymond and Shirley Delmage on November 8, 1948 in Minnedosa, Manitoba. He was the second of four children. Doug and his siblings were raised on the family farm. Doug went on to become a Carpenter and Building Inspector; which took him many places, including Yellowknife, Minnedosa, Camrose, Bruderheim, Neepawa and finally settling in Red Deer. Doug met the love of his life, Sharon and they were married in July 1968. They enjoyed fifty-one years together. Doug’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and tinkering on engines of all kinds. He was a long time member of the Alberta Black Powder Association, and in recent years the Neepawa Wildlife Association, where he made many lasting friendships. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon Delmage (nee Wood); his daughter, Nonette (Brent) Koziol of Red Deer and his grandchildren, Dominic and Jared. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Ian (Colleen) Delmage of Dauphin, Manitoba and Colin (Debbie) Delmage of Grande Cache, Alberta; his sister, Linda (Tom) Vint of Minnedosa, Manitoba; as well as numerous other family and close friends. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Shirley Delmage. If desired, Memorial Donations in Doug’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Lung Association at www.lung.ca.
