It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Donald ‘Don’ Robert McLeod, much-loved
father and husband. Don passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, surrounded by his wife,
children and parents on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the age of 57 years. Don was born in Prince Albert,
Saskatchewan and although he moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 2002, he remained a loyal Roughriders
fan. He loved camping, watching football and curling on TV, music, and social gatherings, but most of
all, his family. Don was a life-long entrepreneur who ran many businesses including a Sports Store, Jet
Ski Rental and a Restoration Business. He was very active in the community; coaching his children’s
sports teams, including serving as the Red Deer Renegade’s President. Don is survived by his loving
wife, Virginia; his precious children, Conor (Julia), Nikki and Ryan; his parents, Dale and Sylvia
McLeod; his siblings, Barry (Sharon), Keith (Janice) and Laurie (Greg). Don had a special place in his
heart for his Aunt Lynn, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; as well as a host of
relatives and dear friends. There are no words to describe the sincere gratitude our family feels. We
would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to all of our loyal friends, that have been by our sides, by
generously giving their time to help and support us over the past few years. Funeral Mass will be
celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 12,
2019 at 3:00 p.m. with The Reverend Father Les Drewicki Celebrant. Cremation entrusted to the
Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Don’s
honor may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.ca. Condolences
