It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Albert McKenzie ‘Mac’ Russell Armstrong on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Mac was born in Taber, Alberta on April 2, 1930. Over the years, he attended school in Taber, Tilley and Brooks, Alberta. He met the love of his life while attending Brooks High School. Mac married Patricia Poole on September 27, 1952. Over the years, Mac and Pat lived in Calgary, Grande Prairie and Red Deer. Most of their married life was spent living in Red Deer, Alberta. He always cherished the time he spent with his family at their Lake Newell Cottage, “Sum-R-Fun”. Mac spent the majority of his career managing the Red Deer Case Power and Equipment Branch. He was well known in the local farming community around Red Deer. Mac was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia and an only brother, Lorne. Mac later married Irene Young and they enjoyed many happy years living in Red Deer. Mac will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Irene; his three children, Greg (Susan) Armstrong, Brenda (Wayne) Kalynchuk and Debbie (Doug) Harding; his four grandchildren, Scott Armstrong, Danny (Nicole) Armstrong, Laura Kalynchuk and Ashley (David) Rabii; and two great grandchildren, Logan and Brooklyn.
