Mona Elizabeth Luckiw

Mona Elizabeth Luckiw of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on August 29, 2025, at the age of 75, after a strong but short fight with cancer.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter Luckiw; her parents, Thomas K. Armstrong and Kate M. Armstrong; and many other loved ones.
Mona was born on November 16, 1949, in Drumheller, Alberta. She married Peter on August 16, 1975, and together they moved to Red Deer, where they began a new chapter. Mona supported Peter in his ventures, including the opening of Cool Well Service.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kandy Young (Jeff) and Wanda Hodgson (Raymond); her grandchildren, Tyler Hodgson, Ciara Stevens (Colin), Tieren Young, and Shaunna Hodgson; and her great-granddaughter, Sophia. She is also survived by her siblings: Boone Armstrong (Rosie) Donald Armstrong (Joan), and Tom Armstrong (Brenda); Helen Brunette (Ernie) and Barbara Curran (Jerry); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Mona was a kind and generous woman, known for her giving heart and willingness to help others. She cherished the outdoors, but her greatest joy was always spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mona’s memory to the Red Deer Hospice Foundation. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Red Deer Hospice and Dr. Badenhorst for their kindness and care.
