Michael Wayne Jablonski passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on August 16, 2026 after a long battle with COPD.

Michael was born on December 10, 1956 in Niagara Falls Ontario to Walter and Irene (nee Freeth) Jablonski.  After graduating from the St Catharines Collegiate, he joined the family auto body business, Walter’s Body Shop, in St. Catharines, where he earned his Journeyman Auto Body Certificate.

Mike’s hard work and determination eventually brought him West to Red Deer, Alberta where he continued a long career in the auto body industry. Over the years, he worked for Festival Ford in Red Deer, in Eckville, and for many years at B&T Auto Body in Sylvan Lake.  Mike also spent time working with his brother, Bob at BFS Fibreglass in Red Deer, helping with boat repairs and fibreglass fabrication.

Outside of work, Mike was happiest outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved bowhunting, fishing and camping in the West Country of Alberta. Those who knew Mike will remember him as a kind and gentle man, always willing to lend a hand to family and friends.

Mike was predeceased by his father Walter Jablonski, and his mother, Irene Jablonski

He is lovingly remembered by his brothers, Bob (MaryAnne), and Steven (Josie) and his sister Debbie Borden; his nephew Jeremy Jablonski (Toni); and his nieces, Amy Corrigan, Krystin Jablonski, Amanda Marazia (Anthony), and Sarah Borden (Mike).

Mike will also be remembered by his great nieces and great nephews; Taiya Jablonski, Hannah Corrigan, Kaden Corrigan, Camryn Jablonski, Morgan Jablonski, Austyn Smith, Hunter Smith, Mason Marazia, Spencer Marazia, Ethan Marazia, Dom Skjonsberg and Carter Skjonsberg

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there will be no formal memorial service.  A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Parkvale Lodge, who watched over Mike as well as the staff of the Red Deer Hospital Emergency Department for the excellent and compassionate care he received. We are deeply thankful for the kindness shown to Mike and for all that you do for those entrusted to your care.

Mike lived the life he wanted to live. Like his mother before him, he would often end an evening conversation with the simple words, “God Bless”.

And in true Mike fashion, he was also known to say, “If I would have known that I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself”

That sense of humour, along with his kindness, gentle nature and willingness to help others, will be remembered by everyone who knew him.

Mike was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Always remembered, never forgotten.
