It is with profound sadness we announce that Eileen passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on January 19, 2019, after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Delburne AB, to Reed and Katherine Dowell, she grew up in Vancouver, BC. Eileen was an extraordinary wife to husband Jim for 56 years, the best Mom ever to Wayne, Sheila Sayers (Rob), and James, she was a gentle, caring Grandma to her grandson, Cooper.

She leaves behind her twin sister Elaine Woodward, brother John Dowell (Sue), sister-in-law Judy Renick and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by many friends from around the globe. Her love of people was shown in her decades of service to her Lord, Church and Pastoral Care team.

A Celebration of Life mass will be held at Sacred Heart Parish, 5508 – 48a Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 1:00 pm (slideshow to follow). Those wishing to pay their respects may do so between 12:00 pm and 12:50 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Box 25013 Deer Park PO, Red Deer AB, T4R 2M3.
