On Friday, January 11, 2019, Martin Raphael Brunner went to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 89 years. It is with thankful hearts for a grace-filled life that we say goodbye to our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Martin was born to Frank and Theresa Brunner on the family farm near Hanna, Alberta. He along with his seven brothers and sister spent their early years working on the farm and attending Weise school, where Martin completed his early education.
Martin married Joyce Croker on October 22, 1950 and together they raised their five children. He worked as a mechanic at Waterloo Motors in Edmonton and MGM in Red Deer. After spending a number of years in this trade, Martin moved into sales, managing Tall Pine TV in Lacombe and later operating a Mac Tools distributorship. He was always involved in the churches they attended.
Martin is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce, his sons Glenn (Gail) and Greg (Ann), his daughter Margot (Ken), nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Frank, Joseph and Alfred, son Randy, daughter Barbara, and grandchildren Miranda and Matthew Warren.
A Memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Lacombe Evangelical Free Church, 4619 C & E Trail, Lacombe, Alberta. Interment has taken place at Fairview Cemetery in Lacombe.
Condolences for the family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
