Marleen Robinson
It is with great sadness that the family of Marleen Grace Robinson (Hamlin) share the news of her passing on November 16, 2023 in her home in Red Deer, AB.
Marleen will be lovingly remembered and missed by her 5 children: Royden (Brenda) Robinson, Angela (Bernie) Hamill, Lana Robinson, Sarah (Greg) Andersen, and Cameron Robinson along with her 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Marleen was born in 1943 in Comox, BC to her parents Joseph and Kathleen Hamlin; the first of their four children. She was married to Gerald Ward in 1962 with whom she raised Royden, Angela and Lana.
In 1975, Marleen married her second husband, Gregory Robinson with whom she had her fourth and fifth children, Sarah and Cameron. Gregory was a member of the armed forces and the family moved to many places across Canada during their 17 years of marriage. He was last stationed in Penhold, AB before his passing in 1991 which then made Red Deer home for Marleen.
Marleen’s greatest pride and joy was her family, who she loved spending time with and always looked forward to visits and family gatherings. She especially loved spending holidays together and watching her family continue to grow. She will be remembered as a loving and proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She had many close friends and neighbors who provided her great companionship during the last years of her life. These friendships meant so much to Marleen and her family is grateful for all they have done. We are also grateful for the compassionate care that was provided by Dr. Hovan, whose expertise and kindness brought comfort and support during Marleen’s life.
Family and friends are all invited to a service at Eventide Funeral Home at 1pm on Monday, December 4th followed by a light lunch and celebration of life at Angela and Bernie’s home. This will be a time to remember and share memories with Marleen’s friends and loved ones.
If desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marleen’s honor can be made directly to the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation.
