Marie (Helga) Osbaldeston (nee Byquist)

Marie (Helga) Osbaldeston (nee Byquist) was born in Winnipeg, MB and passed away in Red Deer AB on Nov 26, 2018 at the age of 89. Helga will forever be remembered by her step-daughters, Eleanor and Helen; her nieces, Ruth Byquist and Bette Bowman of Winnipeg and Sandra of Lethbridge; her nephew Rick Byquist of Winnipeg; her good friends Dorothy and Doug Hollands of Edmonton. Helga is predeceased by her first husband A Raymond Outtrim and by her second husband Vernon W. Osbaldeston. Helga is predeceased her parents Anna and Erik Byquist and her siblings; Henry, Charlie and Elsie.
Helga was a world traveller and enjoyed each country she visited. She took many cruises with Ray as part of hosting AMA tours and later cruised with Vernon as well. Helga moved to Edmonton with her first husband Ray Outtrim where she spent most of her adult life. Later in life when she married Vern Osbaldeston, Helga decided to move to Red Deer where she chose to remain. Her last residence was Timberstone Mews where she enjoyed friends and support of the caring staff.
A Memorial Service will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church chapel, 4758 Ross Street, on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
In consideration of Helga’s years of care in Red Deer, the family would request in lieu of flowers donations be made directly to the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, 3942-50A Avenue, Red Deer, AB, T4N 4E7.
