Peggy passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years on June 10, 2021. Heaven has gained an incredible angel.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children Judy (Danny), Robert (Bonny), Douglas (Paddi), and Danielle; her cherished grandchildren Patti Ann, Kelly, Bobbi Jo, Parker, Ryan; her great grandchildren Jessica, Eli, Kai, Faris, Cale, Eslin, Aisha, Allias; her sister Linda King, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, infant daughter Jeanne, sister Ann Barker, brother Gordon Vig.
Peggy was married to her soul mate Norman for 62 years. They farmed at Bentley, Eckville, and settled in Red Deer. Mom worked for 24 years at the Red Deer General Hospital in Medical Records. Peggy’s greatest gift was her smile and kindness towards others.
Peggy and Norman were active Gaetz United Church members, volunteers for Camp Kasota, and sold the “best burgers in town” at the church booth during Red Deer Fair days. They had a ball! Mom and Dad enjoyed camping, fishing, and quading out west with family and friends, they loved to square dance while spending winters in Arizona. Peggy was an avid Calgary Flames fan while Norm loved his Edmonton Oilers…made for fun household rivalry.
The family is sincerely grateful to the staff at Villa Marie for their care in Mom’s last years. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or charity of one’s choice.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
