With profound sadness we announce the passing of Peggy, our loving mom and friend, on January 16, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Mom was born in Calgary June 12, 1932. She married the love of her life, Doug Brown, March 26, 1955 and began her years of traveling, with kids in tow, as Doug pursued his career as a pilot with the RCAF.
With retirement from the RCAF mom and dad built the home of their dreams and settled in Red Deer. Here mom lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, gramma, homemaker, worker in the retail sector, and volunteer at Aspen Height’s School.
Mom was an avid knitter and shared her skills with all who cared to learn. She loved to read, solve crossword puzzles, and play the piano.
Mom was well known for her witty sayings. One of her favourites being “Not quite ready to whip my weight in wildcats” as she slowly regained strength from a hospital stay.
Most of all, mom loved her family and was utterly devoted to them.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Doug. She is survived by her sister Ellie.
Mom will be forever missed and loved by her children Barb (Thompson), Maureen (Jake), and Richard (Carol). Her grandchildren Jennifer (Eric), Clayton (Jill) and Mike, and her great-granddaughter Gabby will cherish her memory.
At mom’s request there will be no funeral.
