Margaret Alice Stangier was born in Ardenode, Alberta on July 6, 1930 to Gordon and Peggy Sinclair. Margaret was the oldest of five children. Margaret married Eric August Stangier on October 20, 1951. Two children followed, Linda and Calvin. Family was extremely important to Margaret.

Margaret passed away peacefully in Red Deer, Alberta on January 2, 2026 at age 95, with faith that she would see her Savior and beloved family again. She will be lovingly remembered for her friendliness, many kindnesses, positive attitude and sense of gratitude. She was predeceased by her husband Eric, daughter Linda, and brothers Robert and Allan. She will be remembered with great love by her son Calvin (Judy), sisters Lorraine and Alice (Gary), 7 grandchildren: Sherri (Dale), Jason, Melissa (Robert), Nicola (Mark), Jordan (Michelle), Landon (Safara) and Teryl, and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives.

Funeral services (coordinated by Red Deer Funeral Home) will be held at Leyden’s Funeral Home in Calgary, Alberta on January 16, 2026, followed by interment at Burnsland Cemetery.
