Our deeply loved Madison Paige ‘Maddy’ Raabis, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the age of 21 years. Maddy was an artist, a gifted photographer, and a philosopher. She was wise beyond her years, kind, loving, spiritual and pure of heart and soul. She was our dolly, our snowflake, our flower child, and our free spirit. Maddy’s time with us was brief – too many things yet undone but we know that she has found peace. We will miss her laughter, her kisses and her touch but will fill our void with remembered joy. We are grateful that with the donation of Maddy’s organs, her gift of love and life will continue through others.
I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Hold on to me, cause I’m a little unsteady.
Maddy will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Angie and Eric Raabis; sisters, Morgan (Dan) and Regan; and her grandparents, Viviane, Norman, Joe-Anne and Rod. She will also be lovingly remembered by her aunty, Renee (Jordan), aunt, Sharon, uncle, Wally, her niece, Milah, nephew, Kingzen, cousin, Joseph and her faithful four legged companion, Bailey; as well as numerous other extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Maddy was predeceased by her grandmother, Eleanor Waisman and baby Scarlett. A Private Family Celebration of Maddy’s Life was held at Parkland Funeral Home (Red Deer). If desired, Memorial Donations in Maddy’s honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Humane Society at www.cahumane.com. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
