Lorna Dee Landis was born on September 29, 1954, in Climax, Saskatchewan. She passed away on June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
Lorna was a fun and caring woman whose world revolved around family. She found her greatest joy in bringing people together—whether around the table for a cup of coffee, a home-cooked meal, a night of laughter during family game nights, or simply sharing time with those she loved most. Games of all kinds brought her joy—crib, pool, dice, cards— she did play to win! These times spent filled with laughter turned into some of the most cherished memories for family and friends.
Her kitchen was often the heart of the home, especially her homemade pies, and the simple but powerful feeling that everyone was welcome. There was always more than enough food! It was often joked that she was expecting a dozen more people—something she would have happily welcomed.
She also cherished her travelling adventures with family, creating memories along the way that will be held close forever. We only wish there had been time for more.
She had a special love for her pets, who were always part of her family circle, and she treasured the everyday moments just as much as the big ones.
Lorna is lovingly remembered by her husband, Earl Landis; her daughter, Shannon Fischer, and husband Kevin; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Brandon and Riley. She is also survived by her son, Corey Reimer, his family – grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother, Terry Thorlakson, and his wife Sylvia and their family; and her mother, Audrey Powers and her beloved cousins.
Lorna’s grandchildren will always remember her for her bright, welcoming smile and the way she never missed the chance to celebrate family. She loved her hugs, never missed an opportunity —often telling her grandchildren they gave the very best hugs. Those simple, loving gestures will remain some of the most treasured memories.
She also had a passion for collecting coins, a hobby she shared with her brother and grandsons, creating quiet moments of connection and shared interest. It was just one of the many ways she connected with the people she loved.
More than anything, Lorna will be remembered for the warmth she brought into a room, the care she showed through the little things, and the way she made family feel like the most important thing in the world.
Her love will live on in all those who knew her and she will be deeply missed. To honor Lorna’s wishes there will be no public funeral service, family will celebrate privately. Knowing that Lorna touched many people’s lives, we encourage you to celebrate her memory and thank you for being in her life. Condolences to Lorna’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
