Lois Carol Pedersen of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on June 29, 2022 at the age of 75 years.
Lois was born in Red Deer, Alberta in May 1947. She was raised on a farm east of Red Deer by her parents Mildren and Erma Keller and was the sister to Diane, Larry and Neil. It was on this farm that she met her sweetheart Donald, whom she married in 1966. Together they lived a life of adventure, travelling to Toronto for Don to attend Chiropractic college and then later returning to Central Alberta to set up a home and a practice. Together they raised three children, Deborah, Bradley and Rebekah, who in turn provided them seven wonderful grandchildren: Bretton, Megan, Dillion, Jayden, Erika, Caleb and Luke.
Lois lived a life of love, kindness and sharing. She cared for the people in her life and loved celebrating, especially if meant cooking a delicious meal, including a decadent desert. She and Donald were the consummate hosts, going out of their way, selflessly sharing what they had to make others feel special.
Lois admired beauty in nature and was fond of gardens, flowers and animals, taking special delight in the annual return of the song birds. Lois attracted people and was amazing at making friends. She was musical and loved Jesus, freely sharing the gospel with anyone who would listen. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend to so many. She was a beacon of hope and demonstrated what it meant to live a life of selfless love, sharing and caring.
Lois is lovingly remembered by son Bradley Pedersen; daughters Deborah Weenink and Rebekah Carruthers; seven grandchildren; brothers Larry Keller and Neil Keller; sister Diana Stevens; and mother Erma Keller. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Pedersen.
A funeral service will be held at CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Rd 275, Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:00 am. Those unable to attend may view a livestream here.
