With profound sadness and feelings of exceptional loss, we, the family, announce the passing of Linus John Westberg at the age of 89 years. Lifelong best friend and husband of 61 years to Ellen, and incomparable father to daughter Anna Westberg and her children, Ingrid (Robert) Sinclair, Gabriel Spelay; daughter Kirsten Westberg (Burton Bailey) and their children Anna, Erik, Margareta and Josephine Bailey, and son Paul Westberg (Holly) and their children Ivy, Klaire, and John. Linus was survived by many special relatives and friends. Linus, a devout Catholic throughout his life, when not at the golf course could be found behind a microphone but was most often with his family. He is a legendary broadcaster and storyteller. A man of energy and integrity. His love of family and sense of humour remained unmatched. His legacy is one of continued faith, love of family and recognition of the story in each of us.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 1:30pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 – McMillan Ave., Red Deer, AB with Father Robert Lee officiating. The family would like to thank Dr. Dwip Prajapatti and the Central Alberta Cancer Centre team.
