Kurtis Henry Wyntjes passed away suddenly on February 5, 2022, at the age of 18. Kurtis will be lovingly remembered by his parents Matthew and Nicole; his siblings Mackenzie (Ben) and Kaden; his grandparents Dianne Wyntjes, Marg and Carey Barnowski, his great grandma Betty Wyntjes, his aunts and uncles Christie (Andrew), Rob (Tawnee), Justin, Kira, Kyle (Czeska), Rhett (Amy), Nick (Allyson), Sarah (Marty), Melissa (Ethan), Paul (Megan); and cousins Olivia, Maddie, Bennett, Luke, Mila, Carter, Hunter, Sophia, and Isabella; his friends Racheal, Dom, Kevin, Evan, Gage, and many others. He was predeceased by his aunt Colleen Surka and his grandpas Brian Moore and Henry Wyntjes.
Kurt was born in Red Deer, Alberta, on June 12, 2003. Growing up, he loved camping and quading out west with his family. Some of his happiest times were spent vacationing with his family in Cuba and Disney World. Kurtis and Mackenzie had a close bond, and spent many nights together talking and driving around the city. Kurt and Kaden had a shared love of gaming, and Kurt was often found helping Kaden to troubleshoot tech problems. He and Kaden had recently started taking drives out to the country together to enjoy clearer views of the night sky through Kaden’s telescope.
After finishing high school in June 2021, Kurt spent the summer working his first job on the family farm with his Dad and alongside his great uncle Allan. Over the winter, he was finding success in the world of cryptocurrency and had begun considering a future in coding. He was taken from us far, far too soon. He was loved deeply, and his presence will be greatly missed.
