Ken Armstrong passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on February 14th, 2024, at the age of 93 years. He will be missed.
Ken is survived by his sons, Lee (Dixie) of La Vista, Nebraska, USA and Ray (Lorna) of Winfield, Alberta, and the mother of his children, Audrey Silvester Collins of Vancouver; five grandchildren, Natasha Tompkins (Shawn) of Lethbridge, Chelsey McGiffin (Elizabeth) of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Jessica Soderberg (Jeremy) of Edmonton, Luke Armstrong (Meg) of Nanaimo, British Columbia; Jennifer Armstrong of Red Deer, two bonus grandchildren; Andrew Wakkuri, Cape Town, S. Africa & Aven (Anthony) Martino, Memphis, Tennessee, USA; and 5 great-grandchildren; Samara, Presley, Maverick, Gunnar, & Sophie in addition to Ken’s four nieces living near Waseca, Saskatchewan.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, Harold, and Annie (Oakes); sister, Bernice Hinde; daughter Denise Cooper; and nephew Billy Hinde.
The memorial service for Ken will be conducted at the Eventide Funeral Home, 4820 45 Street, Red Deer, AB on April 5, 2024, @ 1:00 pm. Private burial will follow at the Waseca Cemetery, Waseca, Saskatchewan, where Ken once was the overseer.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Extendicare Michener Hill for all their care and assistance and Unit 22 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for giving comfort and kindness during his last few days. A special thank you to Dr. Peter Mah, Ken’s personal physician who was always helpful and attentive and made his bad days better.
