Karen Michell Farley (nee Porter), born February 21, 1943, in British Columbia, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025 in Red Deer Alberta.
Karen was the oldest of 3 children of Robinson and Patricia Porter, and grew up in Kimberly, BC as a lover of the outdoors, finding solace and joy in nature throughout her life.
In 1967, Karen married Frank Farley and though they were unable to have children, their hearts were full when they welcomed Kevin into their family in 1972, followed by Karrina in 1973. Karen embraced motherhood with boundless love and dedication, creating a warm, happy, and caring home for her family.
Karen’s devotion to her family extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind her brother, Doug Porter; her children, Kevin and Karrina married to Brandon Pringle; her grandchildren, Michael, Alyx, Trysten, and Kennedy; and her great-grandchildren, Lewis and Giovanna.
Her legacy is one of unwavering love and the creation of a beautiful, loving world for those she held dear. Karen loved to connect with people and found good in everyone she met. She found ways to lit up a room and always created a positive environment wherever she was – her light will be missed but her memory will live on.
