Julian Andrew Verity passed away unexpectedly at age 53 as a result of heart failure. He is survived by his partner Heidi Achtermeier, father Peter, sister Eva (Andy), grandmother Shirley Eagen (nee Hicks), step-daughters Cassandra and Tamara, step grandchildren (Jayla, Julius, Justice and Robert), his aunts and uncles; Pat (Pennie), Marian, Carol (Gord), Tom (Nancy), Anne Marie, Teresa, and many cousins on both sides of the family. He is predeceased by his mother Diane Verity (nee Eagen), grandfather Bernie Eagen, and grandparents Norah Marie Verity (nee Creedon-Platt) and Thomas Verity.
Julian was born in Ottawa and grew up in Toronto before settling in Red Deer with Heidi. A hardworking tradesman, he applied himself enthusiastically in many areas of the construction industry. In addition to his work, Julian enjoyed the cottage, water skiing, camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. He will be fondly remembered for his caring nature and love of adventure.
A celebration of Julian’s life will take place on Monday April 8th, with Visitation from 11:30am-1pm, Funeral Service from 1-2pm, and Reception from 2-3pm at Red Deer Funeral Home & Celebration Centre (6150 67 St., Red Deer). A second celebration will take place in Toronto with details tba.
