Josiah Matthew Nation passed away suddenly on June 26, 2021 due to drug overdose. He was 15 years old.
Josiah was born on November 9, 2005 in Calgary, Alberta. In his 15 years, Josiah taught his friends and family the impact of seeing people. In every context, from the grocery store to summer camp, Josiah made friends. His ability to talk with people and make them feel seen, touched everyone he interacted with. He was always eager to ask people what their favourite colour was or about the music they loved.
He will be remembered as creative, passionate, thoughtful, incredibly resilient, and the person you could count on to remember your favourite skittle colour or the names of all your pets. His hugs especially will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Josiah will remain cherished and unforgettable by his friends and family.
Josiah is survived by his Mother Laura, Step Dad Derek, Sisters Brooklyn and Sarah, Brothers Judah, Johnny and Xavier, the Mcewan family Diane, Shawn, Kyra (Stevan), Nick, Corbin, and Alyssa (Cameron), Grandma Barbara (Rod), Grandpa Gerry (Michelle), Uncles Andrew (Cheryl), and Matthew, Aunties Emily (Daniel) and Grace (Isaiah), Great Grandma Ruth, Great Grandpa Gordon, Great Aunt Brenda (Harry), Great Uncle Chris (Danielle), Cousins Jasmin, Josephine, Isaac, Gemma, Heidi, Hayden, Carmen, Evan, Chloe, Demi, Cyrus, and Second Cousins Trevor (Reagan), Stephanie, Carol, and Emma.
