Josephine passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023 at the age of ninety, while under the careful watch of family and care partners at Points West Living in Red Deer, Alberta. Josephine was born in Deadwood, South Dakota in 1933.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) Long in 2011. Josephine will be missed by her two sons; daughters in law; and one grandson. Rick and Patricia of Calgary, Robert and Loretta and grandson, Jeremiah, of Red Deer. She was well known for her quiet, conservative, and easy going nature. Later, she worked for her remaining years as the financial manager of the family estate. In her eighties, she became an avid reader of novels. Josephine was still joking around with her caregivers during her final days.
