It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Andy Miller. Andy passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on December 17th with his family by his side.
Andy was born in Banff on January 19th, 1962 and lived in Canmore with his family until 1966. They moved to Red Deer, where he grew up, attended school, and made many lifelong friends.
Andy had a great passion for adventures and trips with family and friends. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, the mountains, and the outdoors. He had a wide variety of interests; he was an amazing cook who appreciated trying new things, he had an interest in antiques and history and took great pleasure in his woodworking. He loved nothing more than being with family and friends having a laugh.
Andy was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years Marnie Miller, daughter Amy (Erik), and son John (Madison). He will also be sadly missed by his siblings Judy, Robert (Karen), Tom, Fred (Rebecca), Val, and his sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Rod, as well as numerous other family members and dear friends.
Andy was predeceased by his parents John and Henrietta Miller, his parents-in-law Gordon and Gwen McLeod, and his brother-in-law Morris Poor.
A celebration of Andy’s life will be held on January 22nd at Bo’s Bar & Stage. It will be a casual open house from 3-6 pm with a short program at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
