John Gilbert Robinson

On Wednesday, November 21, 2018, John Gilbert “Chicken John” Robinson passed away suddenly at his home in Rainbow Lake, Alberta at the age of 55 years. John was born on December 8, 1962 in Coronation, Alberta. His parents settled in Red Deer, Alberta in 1966 and John completed his schooling in Red Deer, attending Grandview Elementary, River Glen School and Thurber Composite High School. John worked various jobs in his life, Roy’s 2-11 Service Station, Jubilee Beverages, IPSCO (Red Deer) and The Poultry Farm (Crossfield). John moved to Rainbow Lake and started working for CCS and various other Oil Companies for 20 plus years until his death. John will be lovingly remembered by his parents Roy and Deloris Robinson of Red Deer, Alberta; sisters June (Wes) Allport, Koyle Anne (Greg) Bossert, and Denise (James) Lyons all of Sylvan Lake, Alberta. John will also be fondly remembered by nine nieces and nephews, Ashlyn (Wes) Skocdopole, Brittany (Curtis) Poirier, Scott (Bailey) Allport, Rebecca (Kenton) Seigle, Matthew and Chantel Bossert, Shaye, Kyle, Connor Lyons; seven great nieces and nephews Georgia, Duncan, Jones Skocdopole, Beau, Kolby, Jayden, Luke Siegle and numerous aunts and uncles. John was predeceased by his grandparents Gilbert and Leatha Jones and Albert and Violet Robinson as well as two uncles Robert (Bob) Robinson and David Anderson. A Memorial Service will be held at the Nexsource Center, 4823 – 49 Ave., Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.. Memorial donations in John’s memory may be directed to the Mustard Seed or the Salvation Army in Red Deer, Alberta.
