August 31, 1933 – October 16, 2018

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. John Edward Gallagher, aged 85 years young August 31st, 1933 to October 16, 2018. John was born in Limavady, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, three brothers Charlie, Jude and Michael. His first wife Marjorie (nee McCracken).
John passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in Red Deer, Alberta with his loving wife, Joyce, and his children by his side.

Survived by his loving wife, Joyce, of 27 years; his two daughters, Carole (Jim) Parksville, British Columbia, Marjorie (Karl) Joffre, Alberta, and families; his three sons, John (Elisa), Red Deer, Vincent (Steve) Glasgow, Scotland, Paul (Teri) Calgary, Alberta and their families; his four step children and their families; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; his two sisters, Carole and Mary, from Ireland, and their families; along with many loving friends. John loved to fly and fly his own airplane (The pink Panther), many of us will fondly remember these happy times and memories. He loved to travel and spend time with his family. He enjoyed music and would break into a tune. Many of us enjoyed his quick Irish wit. He will be missed by all of us.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer foundation.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Eventide Funeral Home, Red Deer, Alberta, Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at 11:00am
