Johanna, known to many as Oma, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on November 26, 2021 at the Covenant Care Villa Marie seniors facility at the age of 97 years. She was born and raised in Oud Vossemeer, The Netherlands, the third child of 6 children. She married John Lindhout in 1947 and they were happily married 65 years until passing in 2012. They immigrated to Canada in 1952 with 2 young children settling in the Woodynook and Lacombe areas until moving to Red Deer in 1955. Two more children were added to the family soon afterwards.
Johanna was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and spent countless hours gardening, tending to her flowerbeds, enjoying baking and undertaking handicrafts such as crocheting and knitting scarfs, mittens, socks and slippers. During her last few years she became a master of 300-piece puzzles.
Johanna is lovingly remembered by her children Tony (Linda), Jack (Sjanie), Corinne (Stewart) Krogman, Jon (Perry), one brother Cor in The Netherlands, 9 grand-children, 10 great grand-children and 1 great, great grandchild.
Johanna was predeceased by her husband John, daughter-in-law Sharon and four of her siblings. Johanna was comforted in her final years by the caring staff of Covenant Care Villa Marie in Red Deer.
