Jim Gormley

Jim was born in Coleman, Alberta on January 26, 1947 to William and Mary Gormley.
He lived in many places throughout Alberta during his lifetime. He settled in Shaughnessy, Alberta in the 1970s and lived there until 1991 when him and his wife Connie moved to Red Deer, Alberta. In his earlier years he worked as a welder by trade and then went to Lethbridge College and obtained his Business Administration diploma. Prior to retirement, Jim worked for many years in retail where he got to share his sense of humor and socialize with others.
Jim was involved with Boy Scouts for many years and loved camping with family. He also enjoyed fishing and hiking. He also loved doing volunteer work with the Salvation Army where he attended for several years.
Jim was predeceased by his parents William and Mary-Louise, his son Douglas, his sister Jean Rempel, two brothers Fred and Roy, and his brother in law John Rempel.
Jim leaves behind to mourn, his beloved children; Darlene (Jason) Derksen, Maisie Gormley, Deanna (Michael) Millions, and his daughter-in-law Sandie Gormley. Also left to mourn are his siblings; Phillip Gormley, Don (Marlene) Gormley, Allen Gormley, Wendy (Lionel) Paradis, And sisters-in-law Cecile Gormley and Melissa Gormley. As well as 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and good family friends.
Family would also like to mention the honorary pallbearers: Dorothy-Anne Brereton, Wayne Sizer, Mark Boyd, Zak Jensen, Pamela Courtright, Philip Gormley and Stephen Wilkinson.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private service will be held at the Salvation Army. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association https://crm2.diabetes.ca/, or the Red Deer Salvation Army Church https://salvationarmyreddeer.com/
