Jessie May Ebl

Jessie May Ebl passed away at the Rimbey Long Term Care Center on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the age of 85 years. Jessie was born January 8, 1935 in Vancouver BC, the youngest of Arthur and Catherine Irving’s three children. At the age of sixteen, she moved to Alberta to help out with her sister’s young family. It was a huge change from living in Vancouver, in that it was a quite rustic lifestyle with lots of labor, typical of farms in those days, but she truly loved it and felt right at home on the farm. Working with livestock and being in a natural environment gave her real satisfaction. Not too long afterwards, she met Joe Ebl, whom she married in January 1955. Together they raised their three sons on the farm at Evergreen; raising hogs, growing crops and milking cows until retirement. Parting with the dairy herd was a heartbreaker for her because she loved those animals so much. Mom read her bible faithfully and believed in Christian values. She really enjoyed having local ladies over for “bible chatter” and loved the great friendships that were established. Jessie is survived by her sons, David (Barbara) and Patrick (Marian); and her grandchildren Sara and Amy. She was predeceased by her son, Robert; husband Joe; and siblings, Margaret and Arthur. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Rimbey Long Term Care Center for the compassionate care Jessie received while she was a resident. A Celebration of Jessie’s Life will be held at Evergreen Community Hall, Evergreen, Alberta on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Russ Howard Officiating.
