It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Janis Leigh Ramsfield on March 2nd, 2025. She is survived by her children Justin and Thea, and her spouse Frank. As well as her mother Mary and siblings Nancy, Marlene, Danial, Andy, and Kevin. Along with many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

She was predeceased by her father Don and beloved dogs Oreo and Oliver. She was a lover of nature and found beauty in the little things. She loved stories, laughter, and bringing her family together. She had a cheeky sense of humour, was quick witted, and shared many long running jokes with others. Janis was a talented watercolour painter and was looking forward to days spent painting on Quadra Island, where she hoped to one day live with Frank. Janis loved trees, moss, dandelions, rainbows, frogs, dragonflies, hummingbirds, driftwood, seals, blackberries, and smooth stones. She loved to swim in lakes and the Pacific Ocean, she gracefully dived off of docks and rocks with ease.

She met the world with kindness and acceptance, encouraging those around her to be true to themselves. Janis loved the various animals in her life; including the dogs named Odin, Honey, and Pickles, as well as the cat named Mo (aka Butterhead). In lieu of flowers please keep your eyes open for a beautiful sky and think to yourself; “Wouldn’t you love to paint that?”

A small celebration of life will be held at a later date.
