James (Jim) Jaremcio
The family of Jim Jaremcio are saddened to announce his passing on 18 May 2024 at the age of 89 with his family by his side.
Jim was born on 15 July 1934 at Whitelaw, AB. to his parents Peter and Annie Jaremcio. He left school to work for Sun Oil and met his wife Jean while working near Delburne. He said it was love at first sight. They married on November 4, 1955 and began their life together on Jean’s parents’ family farm south of Delburne, until moving to Red Deer in 2017.
Jim was very active in the Delburne community and enjoyed many close friendships and social occasions. He was a good neighbour and was always quick to give a helping hand. He deeply loved his children, grandchildren and great – grandchildren. Many happy times were spent playing and joking with Grandpa, even when his health declined.
Jim was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 62 years Jean and his son Brian in 2017, his uncles Dimitro, Alex and Andrew Pasika who were very special to him, and his brother-in-law Dick Carratt in 2023.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Shane) Westin, son Lyle (Patricia) Jaremcio, his grandchildren Angela (Chris) Genert, Michael (Shannon) Jaremcio, Chelsea (Joshua) Hogan, Dallis (Dre) Luna, Cassidy Westin, and great grandchildren Alice and Thomas Genert, Everett and Reid Jaremcio, Parker and Wiley Hogan, and Arlo Luna. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Vickie Carratt and nieces and nephew..
Jim’s family, friends, and neighbours are invited to attend his Celebration of Life on 01 June 2024 at 1100 at Eventide Funeral Home, Red Deer, light lunch, then procession for burial at Delburne Cemetery.
