Jacobie Bylsma

Jacobie Bylsma, 67, of Red Deer, AB, passed away in the presence of family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on October 30, 2020. Kobie had suffered a stroke in mid-August. She received excellent care at the RDRH.
Jacobie was born on June 18, 1953 in Wormer, Netherlands. Her parents were William and Helen (nee Battem) Ras. She has two older siblings, Mel and Dianne. Immigrating to Canada in spring 1958, the family first settled in the Crowsnest Pass area before moving to Red Deer a short time later.
Jacobie married Clarence on June 23, 1973 in Red Deer, AB. Jacobie worked as a secretary at Red Deer Public Schools, for many years at the City of Red Deer, and ended her working life doing something she loved, working part-time with children as an Education Assistant with the Red Deer Catholic Schools Division.
Jacobie is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Bylsma, sons Mark (Lisa, Sarah, Luke), and Robert (Nevaeh), brother Mel (Shirley) Ras, sister Dianne (Fudd) Fjallman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Red Deer on Friday, November 6 at 1:00 pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance is by invitation only. Please contact the family if you would like to attend. The service will be live-streamed online as well (link to come).
