Isla Rose Stetson

Isla Rose Stetson was born on March 20, 2020 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital much to the delight of her loving parents, Melissa and Mark. She was the most precious and treasured gift they ever could have wished for.
Isla was so very loved from the first moment she entered this world. Her days were filled with so many cuddles, kisses, music, lullabies written by daddy and story times. She enjoyed a special trip to the cabin at Buffalo Lake, so many FaceTime visits with friends and family and eventually in-person meet and greets.
At 7 weeks old, Isla began her fight with cancer. She was so courageous and strong throughout her entire journey, which included hospital stays, a high-risk surgery and so many medical procedures. Through it all, she showed us the true meaning of bravery.
At 13 weeks old, sweet Isla lost her battle with cancer. She was such an inspiration to so many people during her short life and will be so deeply missed.
Isla was predeceased by her Grandma, Sharon Stetson. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Melissa and Mark Stetson; Grandparents, Brian and Karen Graham; Grandpa Scott Stetson; Auntie Kelsey Graham; Uncle Shawn and Auntie Trisha Stetson, their boys; and many other friends and family members.
Isla Rose – you are our sunshine and we will never stop loving you. You are the love of our lives and our biggest blessing. We are so proud to be your mommy and daddy.
Special thanks to the amazing healthcare teams that cared for Isla and supported us all during her journey. This includes Unit 1, PICU, the Assist Team, Dr. Gallagher, Dr. Strother, Dr. Mah and our special social worker Sandi at Alberta Children’s Hospital, Unit 26 at Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer home care nurses, Dr. Ong and many more. Isla received nothing but the best care and we will forever be grateful.
