Irvine Cecil Suggett of Bentley, Alberta, passed away at the Points West Living home in Red Deer on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the age of 92 years. Irvine was born in Bentley on November 17, 1928. He was raised on the farm at Bentley and attended Olds School of Agriculture before taking over the family farm where he raised his five children. Irvine drove the school bus for 17 years and loved his passengers.
Throughout his life, Irvine was an active member of the Bentley Elks Lodge, the Lacombe Masonic Lodge, and the Order Of the Eastern Star in Lacombe. He was also very active in volunteering in the Bentley community. Irvine also loved to coach and volunteer during his son’s years in minor hockey.
Irvine is survived by his daughters Lee (Jim) Anderson of Airdrie, Lezlie (Chris) Hewitt of Creston BC, sons Chris (Carol) Suggett of Lacombe, Kevin (Joan) Suggett of Taber and Greg (Shelly) Suggett of Sylvan Lake, 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews.
Irvine was preceded by his wife of 59 years, Bernice (Witherell), parents Cecil and Gertrude Suggett, sister Barbara Anderson, brother Barry Suggett, brother-in-laws Verne Wiese, Garth Doepel and Marvin Stevenson and sister-in-law Peggy Suggett.

A Public Celebration of Irvine’s life will be held on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel in Lacombe at 1:00 PM. The service will be recorded and placed below for those who are unable to attend.
