It is with profound sadness and damaged hearts, that the family of Irene Lowe announce her peaceful passing in her home, on the morning of Monday, October 16, 2017. Irene was born in Galahad, Alberta, on June 7, 1938, to Charles and Ruby Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, Owen; their children, Maureen (Larry) Heighington, Robert, Maxine and Madeline; her only grandson, Derrick; her older brother, Carl Mitchell, of Prince George, British Columbia; and Owen’s sister Joan (Wayne) Bevan, of Spruce Grove, Alberta; along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Irene was a loving wife for 59 years; a mother and a grandmother. Irene’s family will miss her smiling face, good nature, kindness and her positivity in life. Owen will always remember and cherish the fond memories of their Caribbean Island stays, and the ship cruises that they have shared together.
There will be a Funeral Mass, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, commencing at 1:00 p.m. After the Funeral Mass, the family invite guests to attend at the Red Deer legion for a time of friendship and light snacks. To those who wish to do so, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.eventidefuneralchapels.com.
