We are heartbroken! On October 7, 2020, our wonderful and very much loved Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away. She was only 92 years old, we had selfishly hoped that we would have many more years of her love and guidance.
Mom was born on July 13, 1928 and was the youngest child of Angus and Annie (nee Bryne) Dartt. She grew up on a farm in Halkirk, Alberta and loved to tell stories about growing up on the farm during the depression, riding horses to the one room school and attending community dances, where she had the good fortune of meeting our Dad, Harry. Mom and Dad married on April 12, 1950. They had six children, five boys, and unfortunately, only one daughter.
Mom is survived by her beautiful, intelligent and only daughter, Dixie; her three sons, Allan (Kris), Darcy (Charlotte), and Travis; her ten adoring grandchildren; Sean (Jolene), Kyle (Kristie), Nick (Becky), Stephanie (Sebastian), Lauren (Steve), Tanner, Justin, Dixon, Samantha and Kennedy; and five great grandchildren; Gabe, Quinn, Tommy, Freya and Felix. Mom is also survived by her much loved and best friend, daughter-in-law, Barb.
Sadly and with a broken heart, Mom was predeceased by her sons, Billy (November 15, 1982) and Kendall (September 2, 1997) and Dad (July 10, 2005). She was also predeceased by her brothers Leo and Lawrence and her sisters, Kay, Alice and Dora.
Mom was kind, sensitive, caring, and had a good sense of humour. Despite Mom’s quiet demeanor, she had many special and wonderful friends who we know will miss her deeply. We would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for making her final years warm and comfortable, in particular, her special “Timmie Friends”- Joan, Doreen, Dell and Ron, Lil and Don, Karen and Ron; and her special “Atria Friends”- Lou, Bev, Vera, and Marie.
She loved many but more importantly, many more loved her!
A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5816 – 55 Street, Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
