It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ian Robert Hollingshead, a cherished husband, devoted father, loving son, brother, and uncle, who left us July 21, 2023, at the age of 37.  

Ian was born in Red Deer on May 26, 1986, and from a young age it was evident Ian was a people person. He loved to talk and connect, and would chat with anyone, happy to share an interesting fact, of which he had many. His connection to people brought with it an overwhelming desire to help;  the main reason he pursued a Bachelor of science Pharmacy at the University of Alberta. He worked in numerous drugstores throughout Red Deer, but one thing always remained the same, Ian’s huge heart and hope to make someone else’s day a little brighter.   

Ian had many loves, golf, travel, reading, but nothing could compare to his love for his beautiful daughter Nora. She was the light of his life, and she will dearly miss him. 

Ian is survived by his wife Krissten Rowley, daughter Nora Hollingshead; mother Sharon Hollingshead; sister Shauna Burkholder (Lee), Ella, Owen, and Anna; brother Brian Hollingshead (Lindsay), Will, James, Sam; mother-in-law Kathee Rowley; sister-in-law Mamie Rowley, Aiden, Addison, Alivia; brother-in-law Logan Rowley.  

Ian was predeceased by his father Bill Hollingshead; nephew Adam Burkholder; uncle Bob Hollingshead; aunt Michelle Crowe; father-in-law Gene Rowley; brother-in-law Jason Garrett. 

In this time of sorrow, we come together to celebrate the beautiful life Ian led and to honour the impact he had on those around him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to be compassionate and adventurous, and to find joy in life’s simplest moments. 

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church 6 McMillan Ave, Red Deer, AB. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Smiles Thru Lindsey Foundation.
