Kay passed away on January 7, 2018 at the age of 100 (plus 40 days) at Villa Marie in Red Deer, Alberta.
She was predeceased by her husband, Martin, her parents, three brothers and one sister, a son-in-law, Ab Bryant, one grandson and one great grandson.
She is survived by her daughters Bev (Maurice) Defoe, Brenda (Glen) Phillips, Celia Bryant and
Carol (Jerry) Dickau, ten grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is also survived by her sister Sophie McLellan.
Kay was born in Wostok, Alberta, and over her lifetime resided in various places including Ajax, Ontario; Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; White Rock, British Columbia, and Alberta. She has resided in the Red Deer area since 1962.
During World War II she worked in the munitions factory in Ajax, Ontario.During her working career, in Red Deer, she worked for many years at the Provincial Training School (Michener Centre) and then at the Red Deer General Hospital, cooking.
The family would like to thank Dr. McIntyre for his excellent care for many years as well as to the staff at Villa Marie, where she resided for the past 4 years.
Funeral services will be held at Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150 67 street, Red Deer, Alberta, on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Canadian Cancer Society or Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
