Henry Lambertus Petrus Wyntjes
Surrounded by his family, Henry passed away peacefully on Aug. 15, 2021, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. He was 65 years old.
Henry will be lovingly remembered by wife of 45 years, Dianne; his children, Rhett (Amy), Matthew (Nicole), Nicholas (Allyson), Sarah Hazel (Marty), Melissa Borlé (Ethan) and Paul (Megan); and his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kurtis, Carter, Kaden, Hunter, Isabella and Sophia. He is also survived by his loving mother, Betty Wyntjes; his siblings, Peter (Brenda), Bill (Pam), Allan (Dianne), Chris (Sandra), Angela Bell (Dan), Tom (Brenda), Nancy Junck (Cameron); brother-in-law Lane Francis; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Bill; his sister, Elizabeth Francis; and nephew Bretton Bell.
Henry was born in Nipawin, Sask., on Sept. 9, 1955. When he was very young, his family moved to Red Deer where he lived his entire life. Henry was part of the core foundation of the family farm, William Wyntjes and Sons Farms Ltd., and dedicated his life to its growth and success. He had a passion for thoroughbred horse racing and raised many horses at his home over the years. He cherished his frequent visits to the track at Santa Anita, California.
Henry was a very proud dance dad and always supported his girls in competitions around the province. He was also a steadfast supporter of Rebels and Oilers hockey, but he especially loved watching his grandchildren on the ice and soccer fields. Many will remember seeing Henry on his daily bicycle rides down our country road, enjoying the beauty of the countryside and the music of his favorite artist, Elvis Presley, through his headphones.
A remembrance and celebration of Henry’s life will be held on Saturday, August 21st, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Ave., Red Deer. Donations in Henry’s memory may be made to Parkinson Canada or a charity of one’s choice.
Vaya con Dios, my love.
